We don't choose which gets paired but this is what I mean by none of us being an island. Even when he has a partner, he's going to need the ship to help him get out of here. We need to be a community.

I’m not saying a community approach can’t help.

But right now, it’s not happening. And the reason it’s not happening is because he doesn’t have a permanent Warden, with a file, who is invested in whether or not he gets out of here.

And I can’t and don’t want to be his Warden. Because my main priority with him is trying to show him how to have a real friendship in the hopes that maybe some of that will carry over to other people he doesn’t already feel a connection to. And I can’t do that and be a Warden at the same time.

No, and you shouldn't have to be. I think...that you give us insight into a very troubled situation, but I can see how we've all been assuming you can handle it because you have a better understanding.

You know, none of his temps have asked me about him? This entire time?

I can count on one hand how many of his temps I’ve talked to, and either it was because I initiated the conversation or we were talking about something else, and Sephiroth came up.

It’s not a secret that he knows me. Or that I know him.

And yeah, I can handle him just fine on an individual basis. I know him really well and can tell literally anybody about landmines to avoid with him. But like I said - that doesn’t make me a good choice to be his Warden.
