[ Zack swears quietly under his breath and shuts the door. ]

Okay, you can tell me exactly what happened while I grab my first aid kid and materia.

[ He’ll be sending off a quick text, too, just to cover his bases. ]

[Don't mind him, he's just going to start taking off the jacket without any real explanation about that. ]

I came here because I need you to remove something. It is in an unfortunate location.

[Namely the razor blade embedded near his right shoulder blade. And he'll have to move the hair out of the way so Zack can fully see what he's talking about. Blood and all.]

[ Muttering under his breath as he grabs what he needs, Zack just stares at the injury for a second. ]

A razor. Seriously?

[ Why the fuck is this becoming a trend? He still has the damn shiv Ezio took from John.

Scooting in closer to get a better look, he tugs on a pair of gloves. ]

Who did it, and why did they stab you?

[Zack is literally the only one he will let this close to do anything medical related.]

I do not know the name. I have not seen him before. As for the why, that is a question you will have to ask provided he is still alive. I will say his actions were without provocation.

[From Sephiroth's point of view anyway. He was just standing there enjoying himself.]

[ Zack isn’t a surgeon or medic by any stretch of the imagination, but SOLDIER did teach some basic field skills, at least.

Cleaning out the wound out a bit to get a better view, Zack rolls his eyes despite himself. ‘Without provocation’ is pretty damn subjective. ]

So he attacked you first. And you don’t know if he’s dead.

[ He doesn’t disbelieve that, necessarily, but given there was clearly a scuffle that actually hurt Sephiroth, he is a little surprised the man didn’t make sure his assailant was dead.

Satisfied with what he can see of the injury now, Zack leans over. ]

So the good news is I can fish this out and heal it so you don’t have to go to the infirmary. The bad news is, it’s going to hurt like a bitch. You ready for that?

I didn't specifically kill him, but the fall could have. He is fortunate I find ending the life of someone pitiful below me.

[At the second part, Sephiroth lifts up his other hand to wave him off rather dismissively.]

Pain is nonconsequential. Something I've long been able to tolerate.

[ Zack leans back and rolls his eyes yet again. ]

Riiiight…

[ He grabs what he needs out of the kit and braces a gloved hand against Sephiroth’s back. ]

Here comes the fun part.

[ Opening the wound a little bit more with the blade he has, Zack tries to make the incision as neat as he can before cutting the razor free.

Once it’s out, he applies some pressure with gauze so blood doesn’t run all over the place - just long enough to cast Curaga. Which heals that mess, the burns, and whatever else is he’s got. ]

[It isn't pleasant by the long shot, but there is relief from having it removed. And he is thankful for that... and for Zack casting healing magic because there was no way he would have gone to the infirmary.]

Considering how he acted I doubt this will be our only altercation. There will come a time when I will kill him.

[He turns slightly to look back at Zack when he says this. It's more of a promise than a warning. He fully intends to kill the man the next time.]

[ Zack sighs as he starts cleaning up the mess. ]

You know I'm not gonna just let that happen if I can help it.

[ It doesn't matter if people come back to life here. He doesn't want Sephiroth to kill the other guy OR vice versa. ]

Lark and Jon are gonna go find that guy and see what he has to say for himself. I believe you didn't provoke him, but I am curious why you think he went off on you.

[ Sephiroth doesn't have exactly have a congenial personality, but being a dick isn't a reason to attack someone. ]

He seemed offended at the location I chose. I told him it was not real, but that did not seem to matter nor did the chances I gave for him to leave unscathed. Unless you intend to watch my movements at all times, you will not be able to stop me.

[He folds his arms already contemplating how exactly he plans to kill the man next time they cross paths.]

[ The location... Zack's eyes narrow a little, but for once, he chooses not to ask. ]

Well, I sat on John for most of October so I don't see why I can't sit on somebody else -- especially since I'm not paired right now.

[ Dracula graduated so as far as he's concerned, he can float where he needs to.

There's a pause, and Zack is about to say something more on the topic...except he notices something. And frowns. ]

...have you been eating like you're supposed to?

[Sephiroth scoffs at both of Zack's statements. For one he doesn't believe anyone would be able to stop him. Two he can be patient. Zack may have the time now, but he won't forever.

As for the second part, he turns to face him.]

I do so when necessary.

[When he remembers. Which isn't often.]

[ Zack gives Sephiroth an Unimpressed Look. ]

Sephiroth — you’ve lost weight.

I know you probably aren’t used to it - I had to adjust to it too - but you do actually need to eat three times a day.

I eat, Zack. Concern yourself with other things.

[The last thing he wants is Zack of all people bothering him about something like that.]

[ Sorry, Sephiroth. He’s already making a mental note to bother you. ]

Okay, well, since this whole thing is probably going to turn into a he-said-he-said, you mind giving me an outline of what happened from start to finish?

[ Now that, you know, there isn’t a razor embedded in Sephiroth’s back. ]

[Zack is going to keep asking isn't he?]

All you need to know is I gave multiple chances to walk away. He attacked first, and I did not retaliate until the end. I told him that fighting served no purpose and what he saw was not real. Had I not ended the fight he would have kept escalating it.

[ Zack scowls. ]

I mean all of that is helpful, but it would be more helpful to have an outline because then I have a better case for other people leaving you alone about this.

[ But fine, whatever, see if he tries to cover for your ass again. ]

Did the razor happen first or the rope burn?

[His pride is already brused don't make it worse, Zack.]

First. He charged, I took to the sky. Then that happened, in what I assumed was an attempt to bring me down. After is when is when I said that none of it was real. He backed towards the well, but his aggression burned bright. I gave another chance to cease the pointless battle, but he choose to attack again. The rope that time.

[He folds his arms again]

That is when I retaliated.

[ He’s just trying to get the clearest picture he can!! And it’s not a pretty one, all things considered.

He puffs out a soft breath. ]

Thank you.

[ He could ask for more, but that’s the most important bit — at least to show that Sephiroth wasn’t the aggressor.

Finally, his gaze drops to the coat. ]

Do you, uh…want help fixing that up? Or something else to wear in the meantime?

[ He doesn’t think he’s ever even seen Sephiroth wear anything else, but it’s worth offering just in case. ]

[Sephiroth looks from Zack to the jacket and then back again.]

Do you even have that sort of skill set, Zack?

[Can he fix clothing?]

[ Does he look like he learned to sew?? Pls. ]

Nnnooo, but I could find someone who does?

If that is what you wish to do...

[He's not going to say no]

Well, gee, don’t act all excited or anything.

[ Why does he volunteer himself for these things…

He sighs. ]

If you wanna go wash all the blood off, the bathroom’s over there.

Do I ever show excitement, Zack?

[Yeah, that's probably a good idea. He'd rather not be walking around with his own blood on him. Too many vampires and other strange beings.

He gives Zack a brief glance before heading over there.]

Whatever.

[ He’s sure Sephiroth can find the extra towels and whatever else he needs in there so he’s just going to wait out here on the couch, thanks. ]
